There are several ways to use a proxy server on Google Chrome. Google Chrome is different with Mozilla Firefox in order to configure proxy server. Mozilla Firefox provide the proxy settings on Connection Settings, and it will only impact to Mozilla Firefox browser it self.

While Google Chrome is using your computer's system proxy settings to connect to the network. So, when you want to change the proxy server, it will take you to the Windows Internet properties that is also mean it will change the way your computer connect to internet and not just for Google Chrome.

One of several extensions that can be use to easily manage and switch between multiple proxies is SwitchySharp. You can add SwitchySharp Extension to your Google Chrome by visiting this Chrome Webstore Address.

After adding SwitchySharp Extension to your Google Chrome, you only have to follow these steps shown on the picture below:

How to Use a Proxy Server on Google Chrome?

First, you need to provide profile name for every proxy server. After that, choose "Manual Configuration" and enter the proxy server address and port. Checked "Use the same proxy server for all" and finally "Save" it.

You can insert as many as proxy servers you want. You just need to provide a profile name for each proxy server. It is very easy to manage and all the profile will be shown on the top right of the browser. Just click at it and you will see all the proxy server profile that you have made.

Another way and for me it is the simplest best solution is by using Google Chrome Command Line Switches. Take a look to the picture below:

1. Right click the Google Chrome shortcut,
2. Click Properties, you will see the popup window,
3. On the "Target" add "--proxy-server=proxy-address:port" (ex. 127.0.0.1:3128) at the end of the line, so the full line will be ""C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --proxy-server=127.0.0.1:9123"
4. Click OK to finish.

Now, every time you click on the shortcut, the browser will use the proxy server to connect to the internet. Or you can also do like this:

Just click Windows Start Menu and choose Run ( Windows Button + R). Then enter "chrome --proxy-server=proxy-address:port"
